The first rays of sunshine dance across the mediterranean sea and bathe the city of Nice in the pleasant warm light, typical for the area of Côte d’Azur. The perfect moment to start a day tour through the Alpes Maritimes, which will be this year’s final stage of the Tour de France - for the first time in history (www.letour.fr).
The day's ride includes the Col d' Èze (507 m), the Col de Braus (1,002 m) and the culmination of the tour being the final climb, the Col de Turini at 1,607 m. A total of 2,950 meters in altitude, spread over just 75 km on- and off-road. Ideal terrain for the E-Grandurance, which is at home on both: asphalt as well as gravel. The TQ drive system provides the necessary additional trust especially on the steep climbs.
Wide awake, we rush out of town, the houses we pass become a blur and the city color quickly gives way to a real Tour de France feeling. The first serpentines soon appear, winding their way up the first climb.
While the coastal town is always in view, suddenly a magnificent mountain panorama opens up in front of you. Now is the time to leave the paved roads behind and head for rougher, more adventurous terrain.
The countryside around Nice up to the Col de Braus opens up a world rich in contrast, changing terrain, play of light and shadow, lined with abundant vegetation and steep uphill climbs and descents with ramps of up to 15%! Small villages perfectly blend into the landscape and invite you to linger or at least fill up your water bottles.
Before you know it all sense of time has been lost in this surrounding, a partly rugged and adventurous route through unspoiled nature and picturesque villages and all of a sudden you are on the last climb, 10 kilometers up to the Col du Turini. The sun goes down on today’s final stage and for the ultimate climb twilight sets in. A perfect day comes to an end.
HIDDEN POWER
The new E-Grandurance carries the typical Bergamont Grandurance DNA, impresses with proven all-road geometry, outstanding driving characteristics and confident handling on almost any terrain and with a maximum range of uses as well as a style-defining design. The very compact, ultra-light and extremely quiet TQ-HPR50 drive unit provides almost invisible, additional thrust.
TQ-HPR50 - LIGHTEST, QUIETEST AND SMALLEST E-BIKE SYSTEM IN IT’S CLASS.

ALLROAD GEOMETRY
The E-GRANDURANCE inherited the typical all-road geometry which has its origins in the development of our very first gravelbike the Grandurance. The geometry of the Grandurance and E-Grandurance is almost identical, the stack to reach ratio for both bikes being 1,49. Therefore both share the usual outstanding riding characteristics as well as the right balance of ergonomics, comfort and performance.
COMMUTER, TOURER, EXPLORER
The E-GRANDURANCE bikes come in two frame options: carbon or aluminum. Both variants offer a more sportive, non RD model and an RD (short for randonneur) version. The latter are equipped with fenders, rear carrier, kickstand and lighting system and have proven to be a perfect gravel commuter.
MORE TIRE CLEARANCE
In changing terrain, wider tire dimensions with an appropriate profile are the key to happiness. With 50 mm maximum tire clearance (40 mm for the RD models), your possibilities are unlimited.
UNBOUND, UNLIMITED, UNRESTRICTED
Climbing Mount Everest, in other words 8,848 meters in altitude, within 24 hours - the ultimate challenge for man and machine!
For our Everesting challenge at the gravel event “KOM Berlin”, we took on the challenge of climbing Mount Everest on the E-Grandurance in under 24 hours. The ultimate test for the new E-Grandurance and the TQ drive system.
After 18 hours and 44 minutes, our rider Bero von Etzel made it. He conquered the 8,848 meters of altitude, rode 343 kilometers non-stop and only took short breaks to eat and swap the range extender. An impressive marathon performance that showcases the reliability of the E-Grandurance and the TQ drive unit.
