Womens Bike CAMP 2018

Young Generation Resort Buchegg in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Getting there. No way to long for us. (29.08.2018)

Representing Bergamont at the Womens Bike Camp in Saalbach Hinterglemm for the first time. Having driven our van full of 2019 bike over 1,000 kilometers all the way from Hamburg, we are really excited what will await uns.
Let's get started!

The first day. (Aug. 30th 2018)

Everything is new. Freshly printed tents and brand new bikes. We finished setting up our gear, ready for the girls to arrive.

Meeting the team, guides and exhibitors for proper introductions and celebrating with a glass.

Gone before you look twice, our bikes attract a lot of attention and enjoy a lot of trail time.

First outing for everybody and a mechanics workshop in the evening. Spirits are high.

After dinner we listen to Gerd explaining the Penguine Principle:
Staying perfectly motivated to ride and always have fun - even if it rains for four days straight (wait! what? rain?).

Day two. (Aug 31st 2018)

Early Birds. We have breakfast at 7:30 and jump on the bikes.

Groups are riding out and about and it's quiet in the camp.

We take advantage of the break and hit the trails ourselves for a change.
The E-Revox and E-Trailster are our weapons of choice. No lift needed, we power up the hill.

Up and down. Trail Queens become Dirt Queens and test their bikes to the limit. Trails and switchbacks are fun!

Sauna, Yoga or Bar. Everything a girl wants.

Day three: Cool girls in overalls. (1.9.2018)

"Only Happy When It Rains..."

Wet to the bone we braved the rain and did not let us get distracted. Despite the weather not being top-notch all the girls were really motivated and rummage through the camp to collect their bikes and gear.
The guides gather their groups, it's another day in paradise...

Getting the setup dialled and on point is important. Mechanic Luke does a great job getting everyone ready.

Pink Lady. More than a kind of apple.

Special Camp Party.

Hamburg Dom. Tattoo Studio. Tin Can Alley. Buttons. Astra Beer.

No shortage of parties at the Women's Camps - that's for sure. Everyone enjoys a round of the ol' Tin Can Alley and a go at the button machine. For the iron ladies and gentleman we also have a tattoo studio set up, just as is good and proper when you're "Straight From St. Pauli".

Day Four. After rain comes shine. (2.9.2018)

Getting into wet shoes and into pads not wanting to dry. But Saalbach does not want to be remembered as a rainy place and grants the girls a sunny farewell.

The camp comes to an end with many great impressions, a lot of progress and new skills. Everyone is happy and leaves for home in a good mood.

Bye Saalbach. Moin Leogang.

Our trip continues a bit longer. We visit our colleagues in nearby Leogang, just across the mountain.

Laura rocks her E-Trailster FMN once more over narrow single trails and an awesome bikepark final. Her statement:

"Absolutely bikepark ready. The bike is a lot of fun to ride, gives the rider a lot of confidence from the start and really loves those big bikepark berms. Awesome!"

Our take: Great camp. A lot of nice people. Good atmosphere. Awesome trails. Class bikes.
Our wish: open roads back home.

Good bye and see you next year.
